Project Overview

This project involved a custom in-ground fiberglass pool installation on a challenging hillside property. The client contacted Kentucky Classic Pools by phone, after which Scott met on-site to evaluate the property and provide a detailed quote. After reviewing the proposal, the client selected Kentucky Classic Pools and moved forward with a signed contract.

Due to the terrain and elevation changes, this project required careful planning, structural support, and precise timing throughout each phase of construction.

Project Process

The process began with an initial phone consultation followed by an in-person site visit with Scott to assess layout, elevation, and access. Once the contract was signed, excavation planning began.

Ground was broken approximately one week before the fiberglass pool shell arrived. Because the property was on a hillside, a retaining wall had to be built up to pool level during installation. The wall construction and pool installation occurred simultaneously, with the wall being raised as the pool was set and backfilled.

Once the pool shell was secured and backfilled, plumbing lines and pool equipment were installed and connected. Concrete was then poured to create a stable surrounding surface.

Coping installation was completed as a separate phase, followed by laying pavers to finish the pool deck. A fence was installed to meet safety requirements. The final steps included finish grading, seeding, and sodding to restore and clean up the surrounding landscape.

Despite the complexity of the site, the full project was completed in approximately five weeks from the time ground was broken. The hillside retaining wall was the primary factor influencing the project timeline.
